Drug and Alcohol Action Team

The Communities Against Drugs team is part of Brighton & Hove Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT).

The DAAT implements the national drugs strategy in Brighton & Hove, which has four strands:

1. Young People – to help young people resist drug misuse

2. Communities – to protect our communities from drug and alcohol related anti-social and criminal behaviour – this is the area that the Communities Against Drugs team is responsible for

3. Treatment - to enable people with drug problems to overcome them and live healthy, crime-free lives

4. Reducing the supply of illegal drugs on the street

The DAAT is hosted by Brighton & Hove Council, to provide independent advice and support to strategic partners in the city, such as the Police, the Primary Care Trust, various departments within the Council, such as the Community Safety Team and the National Offender Management Service.
